You am probably thinking "look at that lucky girl Shelby hanging out with her good buddy, Santa!"
You is saying that cause you am not a detective dog like me. That beautiful dog am not me! That am my brother, Jimmy!
You is probably looking real hard now and thinking, "Why yes, that is a boy dog. Jimmy is good looking but he doesn't have that feminine grace that Shelby has! But wait a second. That Santa. Why Santa IS A GIRL! Shelby was right again. There are ladies who have big white beards!!"
Now since you am my friend we already knows you am smarter than average peoples so you is thinking next, "Wait a minute! If Jimmy is visiting a girl Santa then who is Shelby's buddy!! Are there two Santas? I hope Shelby explains this. I am so confused!!"
Of course they is not two Santas. And you am silly for thinking they is.
Santa has to have him lots of helpers. LOTS!
Now I has proof that this girl Santa am not her the real Santa.

Now that cat am Nikki. As cats go she am a pretty good cat but SHE IS STILL A CAT! Santa would not her be hanging out with no cats cause everybody knows that cats am always naughty!

1) They goes to the bathroom in the house
2) they does not shares they food with good dogs
3) When you is nice and bites they tails for them they hits you in the nose!
4) THEY IS CATS!
Since this girl Santa am asking a cat what it wants for Christmas and we all knows that you has to be extra special good to get loot from Santa the real Santa would not be talking to no cat!

That picture up there am these guys who lives on my street. They am a boy dog and a girl dog. the girl and I has us some great bark fights. The boy he just kind of bark and runs around in circles. You knows how boys am.

I has no idea why they has them two trees! Maybe one tree am for good dogs and the other tree am for people. If that am so I can't figure out which am which!

This am the house on the corner. They don't got them no dogs either but you can tell they is embarrassed to not have no good dogs living there so they put up lots and lots of lights to fool Santa into thinking they does!
I kind of likes all the red lights and the pretend Santa and his sleigh. I hope Santa's real sleigh am bigger than that!! They isn't enough room in that sleigh for half the loot I deserves!

This house belongs to a little girl who likes to pet me. that am not the real Santa! It am only a statue. I knows cause I yelled at it. I yelled, "Hey Santa! It am me Shelby. What you doing there?" And he didn't answer! So I knows it am a statue. David would not let me smells it to be certain though.

And this am my favorite house! You can tell why. They has got them TWO DOG STATUES. That am so great! The dog what lives there likes to bark fight me but she always loses. She says, "One day I'll beat you Shelby! MERRY CHRISTMAS!"
I think the Dog statues would be better if they were black dogs.

You know how famous I is, so well spoken, so gentle, so beautiful and such a great fighting dog! Well, they is problems to be so famous that most of you don't know nothing about!
Like when I gets me a famous buddy like Santa all of a sudden everybody wants something1 "Shelby, can you tell Santa I need a new bone?" "Shelby, tell Santa that I've been really good!"
Oh, everybody they wants me to do something. It am because they knows that I has to be good and I can't bites they butts or even say NO! It am amazing what counts as being bad this month. It am really terrible. I really needs me that helicopter Santa am bringing so here I is; being good. It am awful.

So here am all these guys wanting me to ask Santa this and ask Santa that. A lot of them even wanted to meet Santa!
Now I is also a great scientifical dog and I has turned this into a study.
Now then this is Leo. Leo am him a boy. Leo wanted to meet Santa so that he could bite Santa and scare Santa into giving him all of the presents of Leo's list!
Only a boy would think that were it a good idea.
As you can see Santa am not him scared at all. I figure Santa am thinking, "Ho ho ho. Well, this a certainly a tough boy dog! But he won't bite me, especially when I remind him that Shelby is my friend! Not even a crazy tough boy wants to fight Shelby!"
<-- Now here am a boy, Axl. Axl am him smarter then you average boy! He may be almost as smart as my old buddy Ben!
Of course the world's smartest boy am about half as smart as the dumbest girl. I has proof of that.
Now Axl has him a a plan. He am going to be Santa's helper and when Santa am delivering all them toys to kids and dogs Axl will follow Santa around and gets to eat all the crumbs Santa drops from all them cookies kids leaves out!
I has to admit that sounds it like a good plan unless you am a girl and then you knows they is a better way!
This here smart girl am Gilda. Her smarter girl plan am this. She has figured that since Santa am him a boy Santa would has to take him some coffee breaks. Now Gilda will be his helper and when Santa goes him on a coffee break Gilda will say, "Go on Santa, you take your break. Don't worry about falling behind schedule. I'm already dressed like you! I'll just keep making the deliveries and no one will know the difference!"
See, not only will Gilda get called a good girl by Santa when she am delivering them presents she will get ALL THE COOKIES!
Gilda am a genius! She am almost as smart as me!

I hopes you all had you a good "Thanks For All I Can Eats Day." I hopes you all had all you can eats. I didn't. I never does. You can feel sorry for me for a minute. "Poor Shelby. She is the greatest eating dog that ever lived but mean old David is trying to starve her!"
Okay. You can stop feeling sorry for me.
I has got something that am really important. You know that "Happy All You Can Eats Day" is also the first day of "You Gotta Be Good Month!" A whole month when you has to be good.
Having to be good am very terrible.
But what can you do? I can tell you if you be bad you won't get nothing for Christmas and that am the worst kind of terrible. We all needs our Christmas loot let me tell you!
You am probably thinking to youself, "Boy, I sure wish I knew who keeps track of whether I'm good or bad. If that guy was my friend I bet I'd get tons of Christmas presents!"
I is thinking you am probably right which am why I is laughing cause I has got me a brand new best friend!

That am true. Santa Claus am my best friend.
They was some things that bothered me. You may not has noticed because you am not so smart like me. But if you looks you will see what I is talking about.

Once I saw a lady with a beard in a movie on TV so I was not too sure but I is now. Santa am him a boy!
I knowed it were Santa for real cause he spoke pretty good doggish. I said to him, "You am not Santa! Everybody knows that Santa am smart and generous and you am a BOY!"
Santa, him just said, "Ho ho ho!" That am the kind of answer boys says when you asks them a good question so I knowed it were true.
It am very hard to believe but there you have. Santa am not her a girl but her am a boy.
"Ho ho ho, I know you've been a very good girl, Shelby. What would you like for Christmas this year?" Santa said.
Now here am why I am a super genius. I knows boys. I also had me a list of stuff I need that am about 3 days long! Like I says, I knows boys and I know no boy, not even Santa could remember a list like mine. So I thinks super fast and I says, "Santa I is such a poor girl dog. I wants all my friends to be happy and they can only be happy when they am seeing me. So there am only one thing that I really needs and that am a helicopter!!"
Santa, him said, "HO HO HO Shelby!" which I pretty sure am boy talk for "Don't you worry Shelby, that helicopter will be waiting for you Christmas morning!"
If I were a bad girl, which I am not, I might say, "It had better be cause you may be Santa but you still has you a butt!" Since I is a good girl I just says, "thank you!"

I hopes you has luck in being good. It am very important.
Does you notice I is not hoping you be bad cause if you am bad than Santa won't has to bring you no presents so he will have more space to haul all my loot!

One of them days where you looks at at your yard and you thinks to yourself it will be a beautiful day today. It am just warm enough for some good sleeping, but cold enough for some good fighting. You thinks about breakfast and dinner and thinks to yourself maybe I'll even gets me some ice cream and pizza.
And just when you am feeling all cozy and good David shows up with Jake and Murphy!
Jake am a foster dog that David thinks I will teaches to be a good dog so he can find him a forever home! Like I don't has enough to do!
You know I will always helps me some poor dog who don't got enough to eats and don't has him a good home to sleeps in. But don't you think David could have asked me first? Isn't that just a bit rude of him?
And to make it worse this new dog Jake am a BOY!!
Then this other BOY dog, Murphy, shows himself up to see his good buddies Robin and Blue! Only Murphy don't hardly get to see his buddies cause this Jake BOY dog is all about playing! Only he wants to play with Murphy!
They were so busy playing they forgo to give me my birthday gifts! I know it am not my birthday yet but they could have bought me a pre-birthday present! That would be very nice.
You can see I has just got too much to do teaching these boy dogs how to play good games and to have them some manners and stuff so I is going to let my brother, who am also him a BOY tells you some stuff. My brother Jimmy am not so stupid as most boys. He has inherited him some brains from me. I has so many brains I figure he got him some of the left overs that spilled out of my head.

Surprise everyone; it’s me, Jimmy! I told Shelby about the big excitement here, and she said I could tell you about it myself. That was pretty nice of her, don’t you think? The fun started when Grandma Julie showed up at my house. Oh, she was so happy to see me, and I was really happy to see her, too. See? Doesn’t she look happy giving me a big hug? Yeah, I know, I’m smiling, too!

Grandma Julie introduced me to her friend, Jim. Jim’s a nice guy, and he’s named Jim, so I liked him right away. Then we went outside for an even bigger surprise…more visitors! It was our mom, Reina, and our brother, Ballou! Pretty awesome surprise! But there were MORE visitors! Jim had brought his two dogs, Race and Kadee to meet me, too. Reina, Ballou, Race, and Kadee needed to stretch their legs after the long drive, so we all went for a walk. It looked like a Belgian Sheepdog parade! I stopped to take a picture of everyone.

After showing everyone around the neighborhood we went back to the house to play and hang out. It was a great time talking with our mom, Reina. She is pretty funny, and she’s sassy, too. Shelby must get that from her. Ha ha! It was fun to have our brother here, too, since there were just two boys and three girls in our family. Ballou is not as big as I am, and not quite as handsome, but he tells good jokes, and he’s like the Energizer bunny! He keeps going and going and going! Here we are keeping the people company, and enjoying some pizza. Shelby’s going to be mad she missed pizza!

Everyone stayed for hours, and before you know it, it was late, and they had to go to the hotel and sleep. We said our goodbyes, and I thought about the night. I was a real lucky dog, having Grandma Julie, my mom, Reina, my brother, Ballou, my Mom and Dad, and my new friends Jim, Race, and Kadee all in one place. I wished Shelby, Blue, and Robin could have been here, too. I was pretty tired myself after playing host to everyone, and thought that was good fun, but…there was more fun to be had!

The next day, my Mom and Dad took me for a ride in the car. It was a long ride, but not as long as going to see Shelby. We went to a farm where there were a lot of people and MORE Belgian Sheepdogs. These people had HORSES. Horses are very big. Way bigger than me, even bigger than Shelby! I didn’t get too close to them, because they were in a barn looking out. I barked at them, though, so they knew it was me, Jimmy! You will never believe who else was there…Grandma Julie and everyone else! Cool! That wasn’t all for surprises, there were SHEEP there, too. I don’t mean to be rude, like some dogs we know, but let me tell you, SHEEP ARE STUPID! They have tiny little brains and not much going on in there! I had to go in and talk to those sheep. I even sniffed the butt on one of them, which is very good dog manners, but the sheep had no clue, and…THEY STINK!! Wow! They needed a bath! Do you see me laughing? I was thinking since David likes giving baths so much, he should go give those sheep some baths! Ballou, Race and Kadee had to go meet those sheep, too, and they came to the same conclusion, sheep are stupid and stinky! After a while it was time for me to go home, and I said goodbye to everyone. I didn’t know there was still even more fun to be had!

The day after that my Mom and Dad took me for another long ride to…The National Belgian Sheepdog Show! And do you know who else was there?? Grandma Julie, Reina, Ballou, Jim, Race, and Kadee! That was a great surprise! I met some nice dogs there; Tease, Tater, and Beanie. Yes, they were all girls, and they were cute! I got lots of pets from people, and had a super time. The best thing I saw was my little brother, Ballou winning second place in Rally! I was really proud of him he did a great job! I think he should have gotten first place he did so well. They gave him a ribbon to wear around his neck. Ballou was pleased, he was puffing himself up real big to show off that ribbon.

So, that was a pretty exciting time! I had lots of fun, and I hope you all have lots of fun, too! Thanks to Shelby for letting me share it with you!

This am Shelby again. I has noticed that Jimmy did not beat him up any of them sheep.
Did you see that picture with my mom? It am the picture with three dogs. It am Jimmy, my mom, and my crazier than Jimmy brother Ballou! Did you see how my mom am almost as beautiful as me!?!

Most of you know one reason I is just so incredible is that I has got me some super powers!
I also has me a secret identity. I is telling you but don't you go telling any of them bad guys because, because
I don't know why. All i know is that in comic books it am just terrible if the bad guy ever figures out you secret identity.
I trusts me some comic books when it comes to saying how to be a great super hero.
What it is is that I is now BIONIC!
We all had us to go to the veterinarian. That am a doctor like I is a doctor except I is a doctor dog and a veterinarian who a person who doctors dogs!
You is probably saying to yourself, "OH NO! Is Shelby sick! That would be the most terrible thing in the world!"
Yes, if I ever gotted sick it would be terrible!
I is not sick. We was all out playing and having us some good fun playing some good games I invented. Old David can't stand to see good dogs having theyselves some fun so he comed and said to us "Hey guys. It's time to go to the vet to get your annual check-up."
Right away Blue said, "I'm not going! Them vets stick needles in your butt and make you stand on scales! No sir. I'm staying right here!"
That didn't work.
Mean old David made us get in the car and made me drive us to the Vet!
Robin kept saying, "All they do Blue is stick you in your butt! Then you get a cookie!"
That didn't make Blue any happier. So Robin told him, "Look Blue, mom is with us. You don't want to look like a scardey cat in front of mom!"
"I'm not no cat!! No sir." So Blue kept him trying to be brave.
When we gots there them boys all said, "Girls go first!" I wasn't tricked by them but as I is a doctor and I didn't know this Doctor Jane at all I figured it were a good idea for me to go in and take a smell of her.
First thing she am a girl. That am always a good thing. Girls am just so much better at things than boys.
Dr J took one look at me and said, "I don't see many dogs like you!" That am doctor talk for saying that I is the greatest, smartest dog she ever seen! Being a girl and a dog I just has a natural head start on people.
Then she said, "Shelby, I'm a doctor like you. It would help me a lot if I could stick a needle in your leg so I can study your blood!"
You know I don't like needles anymore than you do but you is thinking, "That Shelby is so brave I bet she let that doctor steal her blood," and you are right. Hanging out with me just gets you smarter, see!
She took my blood, a whole lot of it. It hurt but I didn't cry or nothing! I is also a scientifical dog and I understands why these stupid things am important. That doctor she studied up on my blood and she said, "Shelby you are just perfect!"
Of course I said, "Thank you," cause I is very polite. Even when my leg it were hurting I is so much a lady I is still very polite.
The doctor said, "Shelby, you are perfect, so perfect I'm going to put a microchip inside you! That's like a tiny computer."
I told her, "I has me a computer. I uses it to talk to kids! I knows all about computers I is a expert!"
That am the doc giving me my microchip! I has watched Knightrider so I knows what happens when you puts a computer inside something!
I figures I is about a kajillion times smarter. I is using my computer brain to figure that out so you know I is right!
Poor dumb David thinks that little computer am so I gets found if I gets lost. HA HA! Like a super genius dog would ever get herself lost! I think his mind would explode if he had to really figure out that the smartest dog in the world just got her a whole lot smarter! And I is stronger now and hears stuff gooder and I even smells gooder! David says I don't smells gooder. He says I need me a bath.
I think that am his idea of a joke. Baths am nothing to be joking about, let me tell you!
Next week there am exciting things to be telling you about. Very exciting.
I will give you hints: My brother Jimmy had him a big adventure! They were some girls there so you know it am true! I is going to have me a visitor!
So you come back and reads all about it. I won't even charge you nothing!
Now I has to go test out some more of my new super powers! Oh, Robin and Blue saw the doctor too.

You thought I couldn't do it! You said to yourself, "Making up a new puzzle is just too hard for a super genius like Shelby! If she makes up a puzzle it would be too hard for anyone to do!"
Of course all the girls were saying to theyselves, "That Shelby is so smart and because she is a girl she'll probably make up the greatest puzzle in the world!"
And as usual all them girls would be right!
TAH DAH! (That am a word you says when you is showing off something super great!)

See, that am me up in the corner and what you has to do is get me to that delicious ice cream!

Now when you does this puzzle you should not traces your path on the computer screen with a pen.
I agree that makes sense but people will get awful mad at you. You might even get sent to puppy prison like I did! And it am my very own computer I was solving it on!
You can get somebody who am not mean like David to print it out for you or you can uses your finger!
You is probably thinking that looks very hard but lots of fun. It am hard. I made it hard so I can laughs at you when you make a mistake.
I asked old Blue to solve it and he said, "Shelby the answer is 7." He looked at it again and said, "definitely 7!"
I has no idea what he am talking about.

David has been talking about me starting a new job!

I has made up a great game for you to play.
But I has made a mistake. I is a girl and a super genius girl at that.
I has made the game too hard! Only a super genius like me could figure it out.
I showed it to Blue and asked him to answer it. Blue he looked at it a terrible long time and then he said, "Shelby. There is only one answer. The answer is 7!"
There were no numbers in my game puzzle.
I showed it to Robin and he looked at it and said, "The answer is whatever my mom says it is supposed to be!"
So I went and asked Robin's mom and she said, "Shelby! This is so complicated only a super genius could ever figure it out!"
I said "Thank you," cause I is always very polite even when people is stupid.
I didn't ask David. He am too stupid to even know when it am time to feed his favorite dog! There am no way he could ever figure out a genius puzzle like this.
I know you guys am smarter than usual. Even you boys. I know this because you am smart enough to come to me for advice.
I is going to have to make the puzzle stupider so you guys can figure it out. I is such a genius that making it not be genius will be very hard for me. I will do it for you even if you never does remember to pay me!
There has been a lot of other stuff going on. Not so interesting as me but stuff.
Blue know thinks he am a great musician because he got him a new instrument. He am always playing it. He makes up his own songs. They am pretty good. I could make up better songs but it am nice to find that Blue can do ANYTHING and not just do it all stupid!
Robin has just been doing typical boy things; chasing Blue, sleeping (which am always a good smart thing to do - chasing Blue and sleeping!)
One thing he did!
You all know David has this serious disease that makes him want to give dogs baths. He gived me a bath! And I hardly even smelled like nothing! Really! I figure rolling in mud keeps a girl's coat all shiny and stink free. It am science. But David has this terrible sickness. I has discovered it and gived it a science name. Science names are very important. They let us scientists say easy things real complicated so that you regular people doesn't know what we am talking about! That am how we stay us so smart! I has called his disease Davidamapoopisheadius. That am David for David; poopis head for poopis head; and idius for crazy cause that am what he is!
I am working on a cure. Most of the cure will be a long session of getting his butt bit!
But now here I is all sad and traumatized from getting an unneeded bath and Robin tried to smell my butt! Look there am photographic proof!
Robin thinks me getting a bath am pretty funny right up till old sick David gived him a bath too!
He sure didn't think that were funny! It looks like he also am thinking of giving David some butt biting medicine!
David's rampage of bath giving terror were not it finished yet. Oh no! That am how you can tell how sick he really am. Ruining two good dogs days am not enough for him!
Of course with blue it were about half till dinner time before he even realized he had had him a bath!
Then Blue were him all sad. "Why am I all wet? Why don't I smell all beautiful?"
I was going to laugh at Blue but then I thought that I wish I could not realize I had me a bath till it were all over. Baths am terrible things and not terrible good neither!
There's been them some other things happening.
I know. You remember my new car? You people who has seed me driving to the ice cream store sure remembers! I is such a great driver and any car that got me driving it am just 4 times more beautiful!
Guess what! David broked my new car! That am why I does not like sharing! He just broked it! He am not a good driver like me.
He tried to make me drive this ugly car. One look and you can see this am not a Shelby car at all! It don't even have extra space for all the treats I need when I is driving!
We got my car back and it am even better than before. Lucky for a certain David I can tell you! I loves driving my car. A girl my age needs her freedom and time to take her naps.
Lets see. Oh, it were Saint Patrick's Day. My brother Jimmy has forgotted he am BELGIAN. He tells me he has decided to become a leprechaun!
Jimmy says, "A leprechaun is a little guy who has a pot of gold! Leprechauns are very rich so I have decided to be one!"
i says, "Riiight," like they do on TV. Maybe he have him a good idea. All i knows is that when I drives to the ice cream store they never ask me for no gold! All they wants is them nickels!
I will wait and see how much ice cream Jimmy am getting before I decides if being a leprechaun were my idea or his!
Jack has wrote to me. He says taking care of Sam am real easy! He says I would not believe how much food Sam drops EVERY DAY!

They has asked me if I want to coaches another football team. I will has to think about that.
I has gotted me a big stick. All great coaches like me always has us a big stick. That way we makes sure them players scores them touchdowns. Like I always says, "Bark loud and poke them with a big stick."
I think that if they really wanted me to coach they would call the team the Shelbys, then everybody would be too scared to play us!
So I still has so much to do. I will start working on that new game puzzle for you guys right away.

I don't know why but that am what they do on TV so I figures you people must like waiting for great stuff.
I is not saying nothing but that seems pretty stupid to me. I wants great treats right now!
They is plenty of time for other stuff like how all my beautiful snow am running away. (I think Blue has been eating more than his share!)

See, them people hands? That people hands am holding up them boys. You see boys kind of likes to fall over a lot.
See, Robin there am him a boy. Even though Robin am him a boy he still falls over a lot. Especially when I jumps on him!
But see a beautiful girl puppy stands there all beautiful on her ownself.
The smarter girls, like me, makes sure they gets them a treat for standing there all pretty.

That do not mean there am any thing special wrong with him. He am just a boy. That am just the way them boys are.
They am still so cute! Not as cute as me when I was they age. I think even my brother Jimmy was a tiny bit boy cuter. He probably learned that cuteness from me.

Why is everybody picking on me!

Everybody keeps them saying, "Shelby, Shelby! Why aren't you writing anything?"
Cause I am busy! Unlike some boys I is still got Christmas toys I has not broked! And I has to have my naps and they is dogs around my house that needs beating up!
And nobody is paying me!!
I am so poor and nobody am giving me the money they owes me!
Look at this!
There am my old student Jack, and that am the mom and that am Baby Samuel. See how Jack am guarding them real good? You can see that! See how he am looking at Sam and wondering if Sam has got him any cookies to give to a dog who am guarding him real good?
Who do you think taught him to do all that complicated stuff?
It were me! But I keeps checking my bank account and you know who has never ever got paid for teaching Jack all this great stuff?
Nobody ever pays you when you am a poor girl who am too far away to beat you up!
I is filing a complaint. I is not paying no taxes this year cause all you people owes me money!
Look there. That am my brother, Jimmy. Do see what he am wearing? A NEW HAT!! You don't see me wearing no new hat, do you? Cause I is too poor. Now I figure Jimmy owes me a nickel a day just for me letting him tell everybody he am my brother. Wouldn't you pay a nickel to tells everybody I was your sister?
You is probably thinking, "Shelby, it would be worth two nickels just to let people know you are my friend! If we were family I can't imagine how much that would be worth!"
That am a good think you got there.
You know who owes me the most money?
BLUE!
He owes me for being his lawyer and for giving him great fighting lessons and for all the bets he loses to me! If he paid me what he owes me I bet I would only be kind of poor!
Blue has goned out to get him a job! He says it will be good training for when he goes to see my brother Jimmy. He thinks that they is going to start them a business! Can you imagine what kind of people would want to do business with two boys?
It scares me!
I told Blue he could write to Jimmy here and show Jimmy how much business he is learning. Blue told me he were going to write this great book and then people would all learn something smart from him and learn that boys are almost as smart as us girls!
I don't really think boys can learn anything except how not to pay me!
Blue has writ this story up all by hisself.
I weren't going to help him unless he paid me!
It am not too bad, not too bad. It am too good for a boy to has done all by himself!
I think his mom helped him. Blue can't take no good pictures that am for sure.

Of course he am not so talented as me. It am a good thing he knows me so I can teach him some good stuff! One good thing Sam already does know is don't owe me no money.
